Screenshots, icon and listing: the asset checklist for both stores

The listing is the only part of the process where design matters more than code. Here are the exact assets both stores ask for and the fastest way to produce them from your WebViewGold app.

Make screenshots in 15 minutes

Real screens from the real app; mockup frames are optional.

  1. Run the app in the iOS Simulator

Pick the largest iPhone model, open your WebViewGold app, navigate to 4 to 6 key screens and press Cmd+S for each. The files already have the right pixel size. Without a Mac, use your own iPhone (screenshots from the TestFlight build) or the Cloud Builder preview.

  2. Run the app in an Android emulator

Pixel-class device in Android Studio, same screens, screenshot button in the emulator toolbar. Or use a real phone.

  3. iPad

Repeat on an iPad simulator. If your layout is not ready for tablets, fix the breakpoints first; Apple reviews on iPad.

  4. Optional: add captions and frames

A one-line benefit per screenshot in a tool like Figma or a screenshot generator. Keep text large and honest (Guideline 2.3).

  5. Export the icon

Export your logo at 1024 × 1024 px without rounded corners; WebViewGold and the Cloud Builder generate all other sizes.

Copy that passes review

  • Describe what the app does for the user in the first two lines; the rest is folded.
  • Do not mention other platforms ("also on Android") in the App Store listing or "iOS" in the Play listing.
  • No "beta", "test" or "coming soon" in names or descriptions.
  • Prices mentioned in the description must match the in-app purchase prices.
  • Keywords: product category, problem solved, synonyms; no competitor names.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use website screenshots?

Not as app screenshots. Reviewers compare them to the app and reject mismatches under Guideline 2.3. Screenshots from the Simulator or a device take minutes.

Does the app name have to match my domain?

No, but it must be unique in the store and must not impersonate other brands. Check availability in App Store Connect before designing the icon.

Do I need an app preview video?

No. It helps conversion for games and visual apps; most utility apps launch without one.
