Claude Code + share & haptics

Native share sheet and haptics for your Claude Code app

Two small things make a Claude Code app feel native in the first minute: a real share sheet (AirDrop, Messages, WhatsApp, Mail) instead of a copied link, and a subtle vibration when something succeeds. WebViewGold exposes both as URL calls you can wire into existing buttons.

From $109 one-time per platform, or let our team do it all from $698.

What you get

System share sheet

Navigate to shareapp://message?=Check this out&url=https://app.yourdomain.com/item/42 and the native share dialog opens with your text and link. Users pick the app they want.

Haptic feedback

Call lighthaptic://, mediumhaptic://, heavyhaptic://, successhaptic://, warninghaptic:// or errorhaptic:// from a hidden iframe or window.location to give tactile feedback on key actions.

Receive shares (Android)

With the ShareIntent API your app can also appear as a share target in other apps and receive text, links or images into your Claude Code web app.

Prompt for Claude Code

Paste this into Claude Code to implement the web-app side. Review the result, publish, then test inside the WebViewGold app.

Fetch https://www.webviewgold.com/docs/iOS/app-sharing-dialog/ and https://www.webviewgold.com/docs/iOS/haptic-feedback/, then add native sharing and haptics. Create lib/native.ts with isNativeApp() (navigator.userAgent includes "WebViewGold"), share(text, url) that navigates to 'shareapp://message?=' + encodeURIComponent(text) + '&url=' + encodeURIComponent(url) in the app and falls back to navigator.share or clipboard copy, and haptic(kind) for light, heavy, success, warning and error, with a queue that spaces native calls 300 ms apart. Add unit tests for the queue. Use share() on item pages, haptic('success') after successful saves, and build an "Invite friends" flow with a server-generated referral code and APP_URL/join?ref=CODE. Document the schemes in CLAUDE.md.

Great work! Never coded anything but managed to work with this. Easy and fast! Also with great help from the creators!

Wire it into a Claude Code app

About 15 minutes.

  1. Find the share moments

    Invite a friend, share a result, send a listing, recommend the app. Each gets a button that calls shareapp:// inside the app and the Web Share API or a copy-link fallback in the browser.

  2. Detect the app

    Check for the WebViewGold user agent (configurable in Config.swift / Config.java) and only then use the native schemes; otherwise fall back to navigator.share.

  3. Add haptics to confirmations

    successhaptic:// after a saved form or completed order, errorhaptic:// on validation errors, lighthaptic:// on toggles. Keep it rare so it stays meaningful.

  4. Track shares

    Append ?ref=share to shared URLs so Your own API routes, serverless functions or Supabase can attribute sign-ups to sharing.

A share helper for your web app

Works in the app and in the browser:

javascript
function shareItem(text, url) {
  var inApp = navigator.userAgent.indexOf("WebViewGold") !== -1;
  if (inApp) {
    window.location.href = "shareapp://message?=" + encodeURIComponent(text) + "&url=" + encodeURIComponent(url);
  } else if (navigator.share) {
    navigator.share({ text: text, url: url });
  } else {
    navigator.clipboard.writeText(url);
  }
}
function haptic(kind) {
  if (navigator.userAgent.indexOf("WebViewGold") !== -1) { window.location.href = kind + "haptic://"; }
}

Frequently asked questions

Does the Web Share API work inside the app?

Partially, depending on the system WebView. The shareapp:// scheme is the reliable way and gives you the full native sheet on both platforms.

Do haptics work on Android?

Yes, the same haptic schemes trigger the vibration motor on Android devices that support it.

Is sharing relevant for App Store review?

It is one of the native capabilities reviewers see; combined with push notifications and offline handling it supports the Guideline 4.2 argument.
