Cursor at a glance

What it is

Cursor is the AI code editor many vibe coders use to build web apps with agents and Composer. Developers who build with an agent in an editor and deploy their own code.

Stack

Any web stack: Next.js, React + Vite, SvelteKit, Vue, Django, Rails and more

Publishing and hosting

Push your repository to GitHub and deploy it with Vercel, Netlify, Cloudflare Pages, Render or your own server. The deployment URL (or your domain) is what you insert into WebViewGold.

Authentication

Whatever you built: Auth.js, Clerk, Supabase, Firebase or sessions

Payments

Stripe, Paddle, Lemon Squeezy

Builder badge

No builder badge to remove.

Example: from Cursor project to approved app

Say you built a time-tracking SaaS for freelancers in SvelteKit with Cursor: timers, projects, PDF invoices and a Stripe subscription sold on your website. You deploy to Vercel, wrap app.yourdomain.com with WebViewGold and have the agent write a small bridge module that triggers haptic feedback when a timer starts and opens the share sheet for finished invoices. In the iOS app you offer the same plan as an In-App Purchase through RevenueCat, so existing web subscribers can simply sign in under Apple's multiplatform rule. A local push reminds users who left a timer running for hours. Both stores approve the app, and your normal git push to main updates it.

Your first week after launch

  • Merge and deploy as usual; every production deployment reaches the apps on next launch.
  • Add a .cursor/rules entry that documents the WebViewGold bridge calls, so later agent sessions do not break them.
  • Tag app sessions in your analytics with the custom user agent you set in WebViewGold to compare app and web retention.
  • Use getappversion:// to read the installed app version and show an update hint once you ship a new native build.
  • Ask for a rating with rateapp:// after a user sends their first invoice.

Store-readiness prompt

Paste into Cursor, review the changes, publish.

Audit and prepare this web app for publishing as a native iOS and Android app (it will run inside a native WebView wrapper):
1. Ensure a meta viewport tag, no horizontal overflow from 320px to 1024px, tap targets of at least 44px and safe-area-inset padding on fixed headers/footers.
2. Add /privacy and /terms pages linked from the footer.
3. Add a "Delete account" action in settings that removes the user's data and auth record with confirmation.
4. Remove "Download our app" banners and external promotional links in the main navigation.
5. Add error boundaries and retry states for failed requests.
6. Set the <title> to the app name (max 30 characters) and a meta description. Report every change you made.

Frequently asked questions

I built my app with Cursor. How do I get it into the App Store?

Deploy it to a public HTTPS URL, insert that URL into WebViewGold for iOS, build with Xcode or the Cloud Builder and submit through App Store Connect. The Android app uses the same URL with WebViewGold for Android.

Is a WebView wrapper acceptable for a Cursor-built app?

Yes, when the app offers real functionality and feels like an app. Apple's Guideline 4.2 targets repackaged websites with no added value; a responsive product with push notifications, offline handling and native sharing passes.

Can I add native features from my own code?

Yes. WebViewGold exposes a JavaScript bridge (URL schemes and JS variables) for push, haptics, QR scanning, biometric authentication, sharing, downloads and more, documented per platform.

Can users buy my subscription on the web and use it in the iOS app?

Yes, under Apple's multiplatform services rule (Guideline 3.1.3(b)), as long as the same subscription is also available as an In-App Purchase inside the app. Tools sold only to organizations can use the enterprise exception (3.1.3(c)), and in the US storefront Apple currently also allows a button or link to your web checkout; check the current guideline text before you rely on either.

How do I make the Cursor agent aware of the WebViewGold bridge?

Give it the documentation: WebViewGold publishes a machine-readable reference at webviewgold.com/llms-full.txt with every URL scheme, JavaScript variable and config key. Add a .cursor/rules file that summarizes the calls your app uses, and the agent will keep them intact in later changes.
